Color Medallion No. 5 Green

This is the fifth color medallion I finished.  You can buy the finished pendant here if you want to have it, but not make it.
The green one turned out to be rather challenging to get the colors as I liked, but in the end, I'm happy with it.
I nearly finished and ripped out entirely the first one I did with greens and orange, and started all over.  Here you can see it before completely cut it apart.  I added a little Starburst Galaxy star in the center because I like the colors together, but that was just for the photo.  I'm going to use those orange bicones on the next Color Medallion with pinks... pink lemonade!
Here you can see some of the colors I auditioned, and even though I got to this set after much fiddling, if you look closely, you can see that I still changed the colors quite a bit by the time I finished the final piece.
I think these medallions are quite challenging to do well, picking the colors, that is, (the weaving itself is pretty straightforward) but that's why I enjoy doing them so much.  And I really do enjoy making these because I LOVE COLOR!

 Thanks for looking!

  1. I really like this one, and I can totally identify with your color palette experimental method. It's fun to pick out and test different colors in a new design, especially because each design has its own quirks that make it work with some color palettes but not with others. But it sure takes tons of time!

  2. I love every one of these you've done, they're exquisite. How large are they, Gwen? I kept trying to visualize from the rivoli, but since I don't know the mm on that, I keep thinking bigger and bigger in my head, lol!!! I SO wish I could come take your classes!!!!!!!

    1. The circle is 2 1/4 inches across and with the bail, the pendant is 3 inches tall. I wish you could be there for the class too Nancy. I guess we will just have to settle for hanging out together on line.
